Radical Action Discipleship is nine months long. The program is made up of three unique courses. In each course we have trainers come in to teach classes, do workshops, and interact with the students. RAD's focus changes as the courses progress.
The focus at the beginning of the program is inward, inside the students' hearts and minds. Each student is encouraged to leave behind worldiness, renew his or her mind and life in Christ, find freedom from sin and bad habits, find healing from past wounds and hurts, and pursue Christlikeness and selflessness.
From there, the focus turns upward to God. Students study who God is and what He is like. They are taught how to live a life that attracts people to Christ. They are trained and taught about the gifts of the Spirit, how to minister and lead others to freedom in Christ, and how to listen to and find God in a busy world.
Towards the end of RAD, the focus again shifts to hands-on use of what has been taught in the past months of the program. Students "test the waters" of ministry, buisness, or church life by interning in an area they sense God may be leading them toward in the future. This is a time for them to put what they have learned into practice and pour into others as they serve and lead in local ministries or churches.
RAD doesn't end at graduation. Students are held accountable for a whole year to stand strong in the areas they are weak in and to be growing continually. They are encouraged to find a mentor who can continue coaching and pouring into their lives. At the same time, they are encouaraged to disciple and mentor someone younger in the faith than they are. Throughout RAD's program, if the students are willing and open for God to move in them, life change takes place.
